Clinical Trial Unit at the University Hospital of Basel
The Clinical Trial Unit Basel is an interdisciplinary competence centre for clinical research at the University Hospital Basel. Its function is to efficiently support the clinical departments of the University Hospital in the execution of patient-oriented clinical research projects and to advance the clinical research quality in the academic environment.
The CTU’s field of activity includes consulting and services for all types of trials, such as pharmaceutical Phase I-IV trials, trials with non-medical (e.g. surgical or psychological) forms of treatment and medical devices as well as epidemiological and health economical analyses.
All trial-specific services comply with international regulations (ICH Guidelines) as well as with legal requirements. Besides, the CTU regularly offers training and development for principal investigators and clinical trial personnel.
