Project Management Platform
Supporting High Quality Clinical Research with Innovative Tools and Expert Guidance
The SCTO Project Management Platform offers practical tools, and expert guidance for clinical study planning and conduct. One of the key projects is the Easy Guide to Clinical Studies (Easy-GCS), an online tool that makes the complex world of clinical research easier to understand, more efficient to navigate, and more accessible to everyone.
The Project Management Platform is working on two main objectives for 2025–2028.
We invite you to contact us at projectmanagement@scto.ch if you would like to learn more.
Easy-GCS: Ongoing Development and Extensions
Ongoing Maintenance
The Easy Guide to Clinical Studies (Easy-GCS) is continuously updated to reflect new regulatory requirements, technical advancements, and best practices. This will ensure that Easy-GCS users have access to information that reflects the ongoing developments in the clinical research landscape.
Key benefits:
- Up-to-date information and references to laws and guidelines
- Suitable for self-study and training
- Comprehensive guidance for all study stakeholders
Extensions
Easy-GCS is expanding to address the evolving needs of clinical research:
- HRO (Human Research Ordinances) projects: Guidance on how to plan and implement research projects
- PPIE (Patient & Public Involvement and Engagement): Guidance on how to integrate patient perspectives into research
- Multicentre & international trials: Guidance on how to facilitate the integration of international partners
- Sponsor oversight: Guidance on how to fulfil sponsor responsibilities
Increasing Access and User Interaction
Easy-GCS aims to boost visibility and engage the research community through active user feedback. User feedback is an important instrument to ensure the ongoing development of the Easy-GCS remains user-focused.
Expected impact:
- Simplified implementation of HRO projects
- Meaningful PPIE integration
- Practical support for multicentre and international research
- Improved sponsor oversight
Strengthening Sponsor Oversight Responsibility
In response to the amended ICH GCP E6(R3), this project aims to enhance Sponsor Oversight in academic settings. The current understanding of Sponsor Oversight Responsibilities and the needs of Sponsor teams will be assessed. Based on these findings, practical tools, targeted training, and tailored services will be developed across SCTO Platforms to support researchers.
Expected outcome:
- Enhanced study quality, improved regulatory compliance, and promotion of more robust research practices
Here is an overview of the Project Management Platform projects done over the last few years.
All tools are also searchable in the SCTO Tools & Resources Navigator at the top of this page.
