This year’s International Clinical Trials Day (ICTD) will be held on Wednesday 20 May 2026 in Prague, Czech Republi on the topic Stronger Together: Advanced Therapy Clinical Trials Without Borders. The event is co-hosted by European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network(ECRIN) and their Czech partner, Czech Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (CZECRIN).

Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) — including gene, cell, and tissue-engineered therapies — are transforming clinical research for diseases with high unmet need. However, their development brings complex trial designs, tight integration with GMP manufacturing, and the need for long-term follow-up. Cross-border research adds further regulatory, ethical, and logistical challenges.

This event will explore these issues from multiple stakeholder perspectives — patients, regulators, HTA bodies, sponsors, funders, and investigators — and conclude with a forward-looking discussion on European solutions to strengthen ATMP clinical trials.
