ECRIN 2030: Preparing European Clinical Research for the Next Decade
European clinical research is evolving rapidly. From the digital transformation of healthcare to the emergence of new approaches to clinical trials, the clinical trial ecosystem faces significant challenges that require organisations to adapt, innovate and anticipate future developments.
ECRIN, the European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network, has launched ECRIN 2030, a new project designed to future-proof European clinical research infrastructure over the coming decade. Co-funded by the European Union, the project brings together ECRIN and its 12 national partner organisations across 13 European countries, including the SCTO as the Swiss partner.
ECRIN 2030 addresses three major challenges for clinical research over the coming decade through three strategic pillars:
- Pillar 1: Preparing clinical research infrastructure for the European Health Data Space: Supporting the adaptation of clinical research infrastructures to the evolving European health data landscape.
- Pillar 2: Developing services for the next generation of clinical trials: Preparing services and expertise to support innovative and increasingly decentralised and data-driven trial models.
- Pillar 3: Promoting ECRIN membership expansion: Strengthening and expanding ECRIN’s network alongside a mature and interconnected European clinical trial infrastructure.
Through these three pillars, ECRIN 2030 aims to strengthen the infrastructure’s tools, services and reach, ensuring European clinical research remains well positioned for the years ahead.
