Genetic material in Swiss research: the legal framework and the role of Swiss Biobanking

Working with human genetic material in Switzerland means navigating requirements set out in several different laws. This session will explain the applicable legal framework and show how consent and information requirements vary depending on the type of samples and data involved. We will walk through a practical example of reusing existing samples for a genetic study and introduce the role of Swiss Biobanking in supporting biobanks and researchers in meeting these requirements.
