16 February 2026 marked a significant milestone in European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ECRIN) -ERIC’s history: For the first time in over a decade, the Assembly of Members (AoM) convened under new leadership. The meeting formally transitioned the chairship away from Rafael De Andrés Medina, who has guided the governing body for twelve years, and welcomed two new figures to steer ECRIN’s future direction.

The national Coordination Platform Clinical Research (CPCR) has launched the CPCR Service Finder, a new collaborative tool developed jointly by Swiss Biobanking (technical lead), the Swiss Cancer Institute, the Swiss Clinical Trial Organisation (SCTO), the Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN), with the support and coordination of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS).

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) will soon launch the 12th call of its Investigator-Initiated Clinical Trials (IICT) programme. The programme supports clinical trials on under-researched topics that address both medical and societal needs. A core requirement of the IICT programme is the meaningful involvement of patients and the public (Patient and Public Involvement, PPI). Applicants must clearly describe how PPI is integrated into their project in both the Letter of Intent (LOI) and the full application.
