Regulatory Affairs (RA) Watch 11 launched: Artificial intelligence in clinical research

The SCTO Regulatory Affairs Platform has launched the eleventh issue of Regulatory Affairs Watch, exploring the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical research and the evolving regulatory landscape.

Featuring expert perspectives and practical examples, the issue covers key topics such as ethical and legal considerations, AI in medical device software, patient and public involvement, and the use of AI in clinical trial management. Contributions from experts at Swissmedic and swissethics provide insights into regulatory and ethical aspects, while further articles examine large language models, legal uncertainties, and AI-enabled patient monitoring.

The issue also presents the SCTO’s perspective on the future of AI in Swiss clinical research, including its newly established project group on AI in clinical research. In addition, Regulatory Affairs Watch features a refreshed layout aligned with the SCTO’s updated corporate design.
