Conducting clinical research across borders?
We promote international collaboration.

Associate member

The SCTO is an independent organisation and is based on a joint initiative of the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences.

As of 2017, the SCTO is a research infrastructure of national importance funded by the State Secretariat of Education, Research and Innovation and the Swiss National Science Foundation.

Transparency

The SCTO promotes transparency in clinical research and follows current developments closely. The SCTO and its CTU Network adhere to the overall principles of clinical trial data transparency, including registering and disclosing clinical trial results in public registries, publishing results and sharing clinical study reports.

Switzerland’s Human Research Act and its ordinances are in line with international efforts to improve transparency in clinical research. All approved clinical trials must now be registered in a public registry and the results must be published after trial closure.

The SCTO urges researchers, partners and network members to implement measures to achieve greater transparency in clinical research.
